Biography
Education:
Dr. Evgeni Mekov graduated in medicine at the Medical University - Sofia in 2010. In 2015 he defended his dissertation on "Vitamin D deficiency and deficiency, diabetes mellitus and metabolic syndrome in hospitalized patients with COPD: frequency and dependencies" and acquired ONS " Doctor ”in lung diseases, and in 2016 - specialty“ pneumology and phthisiology ”.
As an additional postgraduate qualification he has a European Diploma in Spirometry (ESDL) and thoracic ultrasound - level 1.
He is a participant in many Bulgarian and international scientific events. He has over 30 scientific publications, six of which have an impact factor. He was a three-time BMA scholarship holder, and in 2016 he received the award "Best Young Pulmonologist" of the Bulgarian Society of Lung Diseases.
Professional path:
Dr. Mekov is an assistant at MHAT "St. Sofia", Faculty of Medicine, Medical University - Sofia.
Scientific interests:
His research interests are in the field of chronic diseases of the respiratory system - COPD, bronchial asthma, breathing disorders during sleep. Fluent in English.
